Vogon poetry is of course, the third worst in the universe. The second worst is that of the Azgoths of Kria. During a recitation by their poet master Grunthos the Flatulent of his poem "Ode To A Small Lump Of Green Putty I Found In My Armpit One Midsummer Morning " four of his audience died of internal hemorrhaging and the president of the Mid-Galactic Arts Nobbling Council survived only by gnawing one of his own legs off. Grunthos was reported to have been "disappointed" by the poem's reception, and was about to embark on a reading of his 12-book epic entitled "My Favourite Bathtime Gurgles" when his own major intestine--in a desperate attempt to save life itself--leapt straight up through his neck and throttled his brain. The very worst poetry of all perished along with its creator, Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings of Sussex, in the destruction of the planet Earth. Vogon poetry is mild by comparison.

While i'm hoping that this post doesn't land in the top 3 of worst Poetry ever, i figured it might be something fun to do.

What i propose is that whoever wishes to participate writes a poem about baseball, about the Royals, about whatever significant event got you first interested in the sport.

While i'm not expecting the next Robert Frost to emerge from this board, i think it would be a fun, OT, activity for the masses to enjoy.

The Rules are simple.

Write a poem about baseball, in any prose you wish, and the comment with the most "Recs" will win.

That means that whoever is reading this will have to press the "Action Button", then the "Rec" button, to vote for their favorite.

The winner will win a prize!!! YES A PRIZE!!!!

That prize will be a piece of merchandise from the Omaha Storm Chasers. How fun is that!!!

I figure after a week of people writing and voting we should have a winner.

So get your best Limericks, Haikus, Free Verse, etc... and we'll find ourselves the next Carson Cistulli!
