I was thinking the other day that, man, Wil Myers is one of our golden boys, I sure hope Dayton doesn't try to trade him for major league starting pitching. He would likely come back from the market with magic beans.
Then just now I got to thinking: what if he could trade Wil Myers for some top-shelf minor league starting pitching?
Please stop me from dreaming if this is a dead-end, but I would absolutely, 100%, in-an-instant, no-questions-asked trade Wil Myers for a Jake Odorizzi-caliber prospect. Having two of those ace-ceiling studs in the system would ensure us a good chance at landing a #1 or #2 pitcher in a couple years.
I'm not as prospect-savvy as a good many on this site, so I won't belabor the point. Suggestions on possible or probable candidates for such a deal would be cool.
Of course, you don't hear of strictly minor-league deals too often when top-shelf players are in the mix.
