Though our Royals did poorly this weekend, I still thought I would share a few pics from PNC Park from the Saturday and Sunday games. My wonderful wife got tickets as a birthday gift (as we only live a few hours away in West Virginia).
The first night we had seats midway up the lower level behind home plate -- right in front of some insanely drunk couple. It was a Skyblast night with Boyz II Men playing after the game (we did not stay for the festivities). Highlights included Negro League uniforms, a Yuni bomb, a Vin Mazarro hit and RBI, and that terrible, terrible 4th inning with the bunk error call.
On Sunday, we had club level seating on the 3rd base side. This game was tough to watch, as Chen gave up three, but the Royals could only score two. The real highlight was seeing Andrew McCutcheon hit a double and a 2 run bomb in consecutive ABs. I have a total man crush on "Cutch." However, MITCH! got to play and Hos had a decent game. I did get some shots of Adcock on the mound, Mous' visage on the scoreboard, and a reasonably good shot of Pena batting.
Even though we were swept, I had a blast at the game. PNC Park is magnificent, and the Pirates are a good NL team to follow. If you ever find your way to Pittsburgh, be sure to take in a ball game if you can.
P.S. I hope Frenchy noted that in Pittsburgh, they do indeed put OBP on the scoreboard.
