Royals Draft Signings so far

By my count the Royals have signed a little more than half of their draft class so far (22 23 of 40 according to my count on PineTarPress.com). Everyone in the top 10 is accounted for except #10 pick Alexis Rivera. 16 of the top 20 have already signed, meaning most of them will be heading to (or already in) Surprise working out and getting their minor league assignments. That's progress if I've ever seen it over the last CBA, which often had picks waiting until mid August to sign.

By my count, the Royals have signed four players over slot in the top 10 and four under slot. I cannot find Sam Selman's or Alexis Rivera's signing bonus anywhere. Zimmer ($500,000 under slot), Ford ($24,000), Escalera-Maldonado ($89,100) and Stumpf ($4,900) helped the Royals save enough money to ink Rogers ($223,500 over slot), Diekroeger ($153,400), Johnson, ($80,000) and Lovvorn ($81,000) and still have $79,600 to play with on Selman (already signed) and Rivera. That's some pretty efficient work by the team so far. As long as the Royals didn't go too far north of $800,000 on Selman (slot is $781,600) and can stay stayed around slot for Rivera (slot is $125,000) they may still be able to throw a little extra out to sign 2B Jackson Willeford (#12), LHP Austin Fairchild (#16) or RHP Justin Alleman (#18). All three of those high schoolers could opt for college obviously, but the Royals could really give them something to think about.

Edited to reflect that Rivera signed. I don't know his bonus number.
