HOUSTON, TX - JUNE 20: Billy Butler #16 of the Kansas City Royals a laughs with home plate umpire Dan Bellino after he was called out on strikes in the first inning against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park on June 20, 2012 in Houston, Texas. (Photo by Bob Levey/Getty Images)

Highlights:

  • Bruce Chen "out pitched" Jordan Lyles for the Win. That is all that matters.
  • The Royals got 4 Hits and 0 BB for 2 Runs. The Astros on the other hand had 8 Hits and 3 BB generating 1 Run. Houston was so unclutched going 1-12 with RISP.
  • The Royals pitchers had 14 Ks total. At one point, 7 straight outs were by strikeouts from Royals pitchers. The 14 Ks were a season high for the pitching staff in a 9 inning game. It is only second to the 15Ks in the 15 inning game with the Cardinals.
