Royals Try to Bore Twins to Death, Fail, Fall 4-2

Stay connected for news and updates

Jun 6, 2012; Kansas City, MO, USA; Kansas City Royals shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt (11) is congratulated by designated hitter Billy Butler (16) after hitting a 2 run home run in the first inning against the Minnesota Twins at Kauffman Stadium. Mandatory Credit: John Rieger-US PRESSWIRE

Well it was an exciting game for 1 inning. One pitcher replaced. 2 errors. Half the runs in the game scored.

It was a snooze fest from then on. The Royals managed just 6 singles and runs.

There are 13 more games between these two juggernauts this season. I just can't wait for the 29th when KC starts a 4 game series in Minnesota. The excitement just oozes out when these two teams meet.

Highlights

  • Paulino has a pulled left groin. I am always befuddled on why there is a "side" associated with groin injury.
  • Hosmer and Gordon were the only Royals to reach base twice with a walk and single each.
  • Yuni with a bomb in the 1st inning.
  • Blackburn lowered his ERA 0.6 points (8.37 to 7.75) with his 2 run, 5 inning effort.
