New pitcher, new game, same results as yesterday.

  • Sanchez on Monday night: 1.1 IP, 7 H, 1 BB, 2 HR, 7 Runs
  • Verdugo tonight: 1.2 IP, 8 H, 2 BB, 2 K, 1 HR, 6 Runs

Eerily similar. At least the Royals scored a few more runs tonight:

Highlights:

  • Sanchez was optioned to Omaha today
  • Getz and Moustakas were the only Royals to not get a hit. All of the Mariners got at least one hit.
  • Royals pitchers, not named Verdugo or Mazzaro, went for a combined 6 IP, 7 K, 1 BB 2 H, 0 runs
  • Cain hit is first HR of the season in the 7th inning.
  • Hacker of the game: Butler saw a team low 10 pitches in 4 PA.
