Hall of Fame or no Hall of Fame: The Big Steroid Argument

This question has existed ever since greats tested positive for steroids. I am on the side that would not want a steroid user to ever get into Cooperstown. I am writing this because the steroid argument is baseball's politics, it is extremely polarized and no one want's to reach a middle ground. This article will give a few middle grounds and then show the best one(in my opinion).

The first one is the one that is mentioned a lot, let them in but put in the Asterisk. I like this proposal for a couple of reasons, it gives both sides a bit of what they want, and it doesn't lean to far towards one side of the argument. Here is how it would play out: Barry Bonds gets elected to the hall of fame and he will be enshrined there forever but we don't put him with the rest of the players in the hall we put him in a special area of the hall of fame for steroid users. Above the hall section that has steroid users it says "These were some of the great players in baseball history and some had great talent on there own. They were the best of there era and because of their accomplishments are here in Cooperstown. However they used PED's to help them achieve these feats."

The second one could be this: The players still get into Cooperstown and there isn't an asterisk. Instead what happens is that they keep their stats but the MLB gives records back to people who achieved them without PED's. I like that records go back to those that earned them but this option I would say lean's more towards my side.

Option three: PED users have to be dead to get onto the ballot. The BBWAA vote on whether they should get in and then the Hall of Famer's get the final decision by voting on whether or not the player should be allowed into the Hall of Fame. This again leans toward my side but a lot more than last time. The part that people would like about it though would be that the people that are in would decide whether or not the player is worthy.

Option 4: Just let the guy into Cooperstown and tell no one that he cheated.

Out of all of these I like the first one for reasons I explained in my writing about it. I wanted to have a poll asking you guys which one you liked but I couldn't figure out how to do it. So tell me in the comments section.
