Unacceptable Strikeouts

I've been out of town for work, so I've pretty much only been following the Royals via boxscores after the past few games. The fact that we lost the last three games to the Tigers didn't jump out at me. That's pretty much expected. What did jump out at me is the fact that the Royals as a team struck out 29 TIMES compared to 1 walk in that span. Let that sink in. 29:1 strikeout to walk ratio. Yeah, yeah, yeah, SSS, but for shit's sake, that's unacceptable. I've gotten used to bad baseball, but every once in a while something happens that really rubs me the wrong way. This is one of those things. The Royals don't walk very much as a team anyway, but when you have something this extreme, it's just plain ridiculous. Shit like this makes me think that our offense, which seems to have been constructed to not take walks for fear of punishment, is not going to take a step forward. Rant over.
