Pitching Perspective...

The Royals pitching has been awful the entire year - with J. Sanchez and half of Luke's starts getting the most attention.

However, some interesting stats suggest things may not have been as bad as we are used to.

Since 1994 (19 season) Team Pitching Stats:

4.29 ERA is best

7.28 K/9 is best

2.19 K/BB is best

3.32 BB/9 5th best.

1.03 HR/9 5th best.

.265 BAvg 5th best

1.40 WHIP 4th best

Several thoughts:

-good bullpen (starter's ERA was 10th best of the 19 seasons)

-Eiland not McClure

-Royals haven't been good since 1994.

-bullpen has been trending better each year, no noticeable trends with starters.
