Some people define insanity as doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

There are obviously other types of madness, however. Sometimes madness is manifested as a complete disconnect with reality.

Perhaps one sees things that aren't there. Perhaps one hears voices, whispering unspeakable suggestions that just can't be ignored, regardless of their ridiculousness.
