Royals Minor League Transactions (5/26-6/1)

Adam Moore (C-29): Promoted from Omaha on 5/26. Moore was selected off waivers by the Royals last July from the Mariners and was hitting .190/.297/.405 with 5 HRs in 24 games in Omaha this year.

Mitch Canham (C-28): Promoted to Omaha from NWA on 5/26 and then sent back down on 5/31. In 34 games at NWA, Canham hit .269/.370/.403 with 1 HR. Canham was selected in the first round in 2007 by the Padres, but has never fulfilled potential.

Chase Lambin (3B-33): Signed on 5/31 and assigned to Omaha on 6/1. Lambin is a 12 year journeyman originally drafted by the Mets in 2002 (34th round). This year season with the independent Sugar Land Skeeters, he's hit .305/.347/.474 with 5 HRs.

Danny Duffy (LHP-24): Duffy began a rehab assignment with NWA on 5/26. He has made two starts, pitching 6.2 innings, giving up 7H, 2ER, HR, 3BB, 9K. Duffy was a 3rd round pick by the Royals in the 2007 amateur draft and has struggle at the Major League level in his 26 GS with a 5.28 ERA.

Nick Rogers (RHP-25): Released by NWA on 5/28. Rogers was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2010 out of North Carolina A&T. While a strong strikeout pitcher (9.7 K/9 over his career), he also struggled with control 5.7 BB/9). In 4 minor league seasons he went 4-8, with a 3.64 ERA. In his 2012 and 2013 seasons in AA, he was 0-2 with a 7.20 ERA.

Zach Jackson (LHP-30): Assigned to NWA from Idaho Falls on 5/28. Jackson was drafted by the Blue Jays in the 1st round of the 2004 draft and rose to as high as their #8 rated system prospect in 2005. He has bounced around to several clubs, pitching in the majors for Milwaukee and Cleveland most recently in 2009. His MLB numbers are less than inspiring, 4-5 with a 5.81 ERA over 105 innings.

Alex Llanos (OF-22): Llanos was cut by Wilmington on 5/27 and signed by the White Sox on 5/29 (assigned to A). He was drafted in the 6th round of the 2008 Amateur Draft by the Royals out of Puerto Rico. This year between NWA and Wilmington, Llanos hit .152/.176/.182 with 0 HR and 0 SB. In 6 minor league seasons with the Royals he went .243/.282/.327 with 10 HR and 71 SB.

Spencer Patton (RHP-25): Assigned to Idaho Falls from Wilmington on 5/29. Patton was drafted in the 24th round of the 2011 draft out of SIUE. He was showing some success in High A in 31 innings this year, going 3-1 with a 1.74 ERA. His strikeout number were very strong, 41 Ks in that timeframe. In his 3 seasons with the organization, his K/9 is 12.8. He's gone 6-9 with a 4.30 ERA overall. He basically was sent down to make room for...

Tyler Sample (RHP-23): Sample was activated off of the DL on 5/31. Sample was drafted in 2008 in the 3rd round out of high school by the Royals. In his 5+ minor league seasons, he has yet to live up to billing, going 18-20 with a 5.16 ERA. Sample had been at EST and went 4.1IP, 5H, ER, 4BB, 4K in his first start with Wilmington.
