Comparing Myers and Francoeur

Too many saber-weenies have had their knickers in a twist about the Myers trade.

It seems that a lot of you think that Myers can outperform our very own Frenchy, and I just don't get it. Let's look at the "numbers," as so many of you like to say, and let's focus on the only ones that really matter:

--2013 Francoeur Stats: 3 home runs, 13 runs batted in, and a batting average over .200.

--2013 Myers Stats: 1 home run, 6 runs batted in, and a batting average over .200.

I suppose you could argue that Myers has a better batting average than Frenchy, but what about the power numbers I've researched and set forth above? I'll take 3 homers and 13 ribbies over Myers' production in 2013 any day of the week.

And let's not even talk about Frenchy's arm--the dude has a cannon out there. And clubhouse leadership too: that nad bonk of the dude who plays 3rd Base Coach after that triple a month or two ago seemed to motivate him to really get his head out of his ass. I think we can all agree on that.

Am I missing something here?
