I remember growing in St. Louis and watching the 85 WS with my father on our couch. I believe it was that clutch hit, which I think was by a PH, in game 6 that gave the Royals
the win. We had a bet, my dad was a Cardinal fan and he had to buy my lunch the next day. Those were good times to be a Royals fan. Now things are different, the Royals have been embarassing to watch. And now we are told by GMDM that this young core will be the team that will finally compete. I'm not buying it. There are so many holes in this lineup and the complete lack of power makes me hopeful at best that they will even play 500 at some point. Gordon has the most HR's with 7! I never dreamed it would be this bad. And the complete ineptitude of Ned Yost is laughable - this guy doesn't know how to manage. I see the Royals finishing around 73-76 wins this year. Next year we are without Santana so it's possible next year is a worse year. Maybe the silver lining is that everyone will be fired and The Process will start over under a new GM. Which means more years of waiting on "prospects" to possibly pan out.
Wake me up when it's all over.
