Royals open four game set against Orioles

The latest version of "Buy" or "Sell."

Wade Davis takes the mound tonight for the Royals, in their quest to roll off a Dayton Moore Special 15-5 streak.

Last we saw Davis, he was getting his head handed to him by the offensively challenged Yankees, who hung eight runs on the Tampa refugee in five innings. It was Davis' second awful outing in three starts. Remember that start in Minnesota?

Tonight, he faces the Baltimore Orioles, who visit The K for a four game series. The Orioles are in the Wild Card hunt and score on average 4.8 runs per game. That's the third best mark in baseball behind only the Red Sox and the Tigers.

Baltimore has a .317 on base percentage, which is below league average, but thanks in part to the doubles machine Manny Machado and uber home run threat Chris Davis, the O's have a league best .447 slugging percentage. If you're looking for a point of reference, that's a mere 73 points above the Royals. But remember, it doesn't pay to hit home runs at The K. So the joke is going to be on Baltimore.
