In Kansas City, we have a unique, attractive opening in a live auction, dynasty fantasy baseball league. The open team was the best team in the first year of the dynasty, 2013; it is one of the best three (of 15) positioned for 2014 by my analysis, and is easily the best positioned for the long term.
Anyone who is pleasant and has good skills and experience in fantasy baseball would enjoy the company. The league was founded ten years ago with the most skillful owners from several other leagues. We originally used it as an experimental league to play different formats in two-year cycles, but after two winters of research and preparation we morphed into a dynasty league in 2013. The ownership has stabilized and improved over the years, but there are all sorts of life events that bring a little ownership turnover.
The league is a 6X6 roto dynasy that uses QS instead of Ws on the pitching side and adds a Holds category. On the hitting side, we have used OBP instead of BA for a decade, and we have Total Bases. Because of the separate Hd/Sv cats, we have a 10-man pitching staff instead of the traditional 9 (24 Active), and we have some years of doing that. So $271 on Auction Day. Five Bench players. Six minor league spots. Unlimited DL. $75 and no tranny fees. It’s a modestly-priced league done mostly for interest and pride and fellowship. We pay down thru 7 of 15 places to keep owners interested and have incentives in player acquisition the following year for the lower-division owners to manage thru the end of the year and finish as high as possible.
We are seeking a KC-area resident who can come to a live auction (this year, Sunday 30 March) and who would like to play in this league for the foreseeable future. Age is unimportant, as we range from 29 to 72...though we will lose owners and a commish in the next decade and are seeking a younger league profile. What is unwelcome is any hypercompetitive person or somebody too impressed with himself who isn’t interested in making new friends. Everyone in this league has "credentials," and everyone has good manners. We like good people and good competition. New owners are welcomed and are assisted in their adjustment year, from the commish on down.
If you or anyone you know is interested and seems like the right sort of person, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks very much for your time and attention.Commish Satchel
