Unsolicited Advice for Game 6

The feeling was awful. The pit of my stomach tightened....the 6 pack of boulevard wheat did nothing to calm the nerves. It was 7:08 and tickets on StubHub were no longer available. How did this happen? I paid meticulous attention to StubHub for game one, seeing the trends, watching until game time. It was 7:02pm, night of game one, a seat on StubHub for $468. Behind Royals dugout; row 4. There were 15-20 other lower levels for under $500. All this after SRO bounced between the low $400s and mid $600s; minutes before game time; one of the best seats in the house.....$468.

That was the moment my trying to go to game 2 was a foregone conclusion. Rushing from work, putting the last of my cash back in the bank to have it on the card, I knew I was going to get a kick ass ticket right before game time. The day trend on StubHub couldn't have gone better; SRO peaked at about the mid $400s, running significantly below the previous day. Lower level for under for $500 was a lock. I sat in the lot (N 43; missed a few RRs by a few minutes), relaxed, waiting for 6:45 to start seriously getting ready to roll. And it happened; for $492.50, club (loge) level, 1st row. I was there to pick it up for less than most people's SRO tickets......except, my StubHub app started freezing. I made it to the purchase page a couple times and it timed out. I reloaded and the ticket was gone.

I desperately tried for any ticket that was up.......and then.....7:08. StubHub was done. No tickets to be had. No cash because it was all in the bank so I could have it on the card. I started my car and was ready for the sad ride home......

But for some reason, at 7:11, before I began to pull out of the lot, I pulled up Royals.com on my phone. In bright green was a box that said 'Buy Tickets'...the same box that has been there and yielded nothing but a bit of tease and not tickets throughout the playoffs. But hell, I clicked it anyway.

All of a sudden, the little box popped up; I had 5 minutes to accept entry into the waiting room. Nervously, my shaking alcoholic hands clicked continue as quickly as I could. Alas, I was at the page on Royals.com that we have all seen many times; seat chart of the K and the list of sections to the right.. Knowing that I had been here before; I had no expectation other than 'Tickets are no longer available for this event'.....but fuck it; I selected 1 ticket from the drop box and clicked the radio button for best available.

Section 114, Row G, Seat 6. $462 through Royals.com. Seats were released right at game time after StubHub went off-line.

Just trying to help; I don't have money to do this again, but I encourage anyone that is going to try to StubHub in the last 10 minutes before game time, or try Royals.com right at first pitch. Lower level for under $500 can be done. Especially if you roll as a single. Happy game 6 (if necessary).
