This week in RR History

Royal Reviewers Reading

Coffee is good for you. Drink more coffee.

Sometimes internet content isn't enough. Sometimes a pot of coffee isn't enough.

-Leo Tolstoy

Break out the porcelain cup and fill it with coffee. Today, I present to you the first and probably last installment of a segment I'd like to call 'This week in RR History' as well as a new coffee filter with fresh ground coffee and a pitcher of spring water.

Look, things happen in baseball when we've got our backs turned so lets just keep spinning and spinning and spinning until we're the belle of the ball, riding proudly on a parade float to overcome the shaming the National League put us through in 2014.

You're asking yourself, "Royalcoffee, how do we get to this fantastic event?" I'd respond by saying, "Please don't look me in the eye when you ask me a question," to which you'd reply, "Sorry, I haven't had enough coffee today and forgot the endless list of rules you prompted me with before we met this morning," to which I'd reply, "We get to the ball by remembering what we did... in the past!"

So here it is. On December 19th, 2010 the Kansas City Royals traded a pitcher to the Milwaukee Brewers for 4 players. Wow! I'm not kidding. Here's a link. Oooh here's another one! Here's a few highlights!!

THIS?!? is IT?!?!?

DMGM just traded one of the best pitchers in MLB for … THOSE guys??? someone tell me I’m dreaming, hallucinating, that it’s just some nightmare from which I’ll awaken

OMFG! and the Royals nightmare continues for the next several years … Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to The House of Horrors

Well said! I don't think Shakespeare could have put it more eloquently!

ha ha.....from melvin

"Melvin said Yuniesky Betancourt, who came with Greinke in the trade, will be the starting shortstop and likes his offense and says his defense is underrated."

i wonder what it is about yuni that continues to trick GMs

You sure do! Your parents will be proud!
What a refreshing way to start our day, coffee in hand and a look back at complete chaos at our blogsite. Can you believe it has been 4 whole years since this trade took place? Can you believe Zack Greinke ended up quitting baseball and is pursuing a career in politics? All hail Jr. Senator Elect Greinke! I know going back into the history books of our beloved webpage might stir up some controversy but I can assure you that this will only embolden our community and promote synergy throughout. A day with coffee and a little bit of history is better than living in 2010! (Sorry to those of you who made great strides as individuals in the year 2010. I did not mean to discredit your achievements.)
