It's raining in Surprise, but baseball is scheduled to be played around 2:05. Fingers double crossed. The Royals are finally playing a team other than the Rangers as the Padres will come calling today.
Interesting lineup in that the Royals talked about giving Perez a day off yesterday, but chose to play him so he could catch James Shields's 10 pitches. It was assumed he would get the day off Saturday, but here he is again. Yost says he gets tomorrow off when the Royals travel to play the Cubs. Omar Infante is out of action again with a stiff shoulder. Yost says if this was the regular season, Infante would play. Colon gets another turn at short as Alcides Escobar should be a new dad by the time you read this.
Some other notes, links and miscellany:
The Royals settled with the last three "unsigned" players on their 40-man roster. They reached terms with Danny Duffy who will earn $526,000, Giavotella who pockets $508,000, and Peguero at $504,250.

And my submission for 6th inning song. Since we know it's going to be "Royals."
Have a great day. Baseball!
