As everything stands right now, would you trade Moustakas straight up for ________?
That's the poll question. I'm just curious because as Moustakas has shown "signs" of getting on-track to become a contributing member of the Kansas City Royals, a couple of young third basemen from other teams have had success so far in their careers, success that Moustakas has not had.
Kyle Seager is not an exciting player as far as I can tell, but he's hit 20 and 22 home runs over the past two seasons. He's hovered right at the .260 BA mark both of those seasons, and has been worth 3.0 and 3.9 WAR during that span.
Nolan Arenado is even less exciting, I would say, but he was consistently a top 100 prospect before he hit the majors. It appears he has some upside in terms of power and OBP, and his defense at 3B last season (his rookie season) was above average.
