Greetings all - I'm excited to have the opportunity to not only see some spring training action this week in Phoenix, but also to have a press credential for the clubhouse for at least one of the games I'm attending. I'm on a documentary film panel at the Nine Academic/Baseball conference and we're starting principal photography on the sequel to my documentary, "Boys of Summer". Instead of hitting all 30 parks again (too arduous on my dad's health), we'll be hitting the six parks that have opened since 2004 when we shot the original film.

Any thoughts on who I should try to interview from the Royals? I'm looking for a player or coach who has a good story about his relationship to his father or a father figure. Also, anyone who is a real baseball wonk and wants to take on the charge of why baseball still matters in the face of a landscape that seems to want to bury it behind football and basketball in terms of importance.
