After a 13-2 drubbing of Walker, Texas Rangers yesterday, which included back-to-back-to-back home runs off Colby Lewis by Eric Hosmer, Kendrys Morales, and Alex Rios, the Royals face the Lawmen once again today. You know, it's really easy to win when your supposed big thumpers do the actual thumping they're paid to do. When thumping occurs all in a row, it just makes it that much sweeter. When row-thumping occurs in the very first baseball before baseball action, it's hard not to be excited, but curb your enthusiasm.
Because it's generally known who will be in the starting rotation come April 6th, lots of depth guys got innings yesterday. I thought that was interesting because the Lawmen threw out some actual starters. Aaron Brooks, Jandel Gustave, and Yohan Pino were examples of names in the Royals' box score. Colby Lewis and Yovani Gallardo were names in the Rangers' box score. Lewis and Gallardo got shelled. Huzzah.
Here is the lineup for today.

New guy Brian Flynn gets the start. Alcides Escobar gets more practice leading off. Prospects Hunter Dozier and Jorge Bonifacio get some time in game action. The team is so confident in Morales that he doesn't even need a backup. There is a distinct lack of R-L-R-L going on. Maybe Ned is so confident in his R-L-R-L abilities that he doesn't need to warm them up during Spring Training.
Play ball.
