Recap: San Diego vs. San Francisco

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Tim Lincecum hurled his first career shutout to remain unbeaten in his past 10 starts, as San Francisco dispatched of San Diego, 7-0, in the third installment of a four-game series from PETCO Park.
Lincecum (17-3) shut down the Padres, holding them to just four hits, while walking three and fanning 12 for his first career complete game as well. Bengie Molina was 2-for-5 with three runs batted in, including a two-run homer for the Giants, who have now emerged victorious in seven of their last eight games. Eugenio Velez finished with three hits and an RBI.
Pads starter Chris Young (5-6) allowed seven hits and three runs, while walking one and striking out nine in a tough seven-inning loss. The Padres have lost four of five and nine of their last 13 overall.
Molina staked his All-Star righty to an early 2-0 lead when he sent a two-run blast out to left in the first.
Things stayed that way, as Lincecum was dealing, until San Francisco tacked on some late insurance runs. Velez doubled with one down and scored on an Omar Vizquel single to center in the seventh.
Justin Hampson and then Mike Ekstrom took over for Young in the eighth and Ekstrom gave up a two-out, RBI single to Velez. Randy Winn and Molina had run- scoring, base-knocks in the ninth and Rich Aurilia plated the final run with a grounder off Charlie Haeger.
San Francisco leads the season series 12-5 while holding a 6-2 mark in San Diego...Lincecum is 3-0 in five starts against San Diego this season.
