Recap: Cleveland vs. Kansas City

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Ryan Shealy homered twice and drove in five runs in Kansas City's 13-3 thrashing of the Cleveland Indians.
Mike Aviles went 3-for-5 and scored three times for the Royals, who took three of four from Cleveland and have won four of five overall. Brian Bannister (8-15) gave up three runs on six hits in six innings, with two strikeouts and a walk, to pick up the win.
Jeremy Sowers gave up three runs on five hits in three innings, and Edward Mujica (2-2) took the loss after giving up four runs on three hits on two- thirds of an inning. Grady Sizemore went 2-for-4 and scored for the Indians, who have dropped four of five.
The Royals rallied from down 3-0, scoring 13 unanswered runs in the rout. Shealy's solo homer to center with one out in the second got one run back for Kansas City, and the Royals knotted the game at 3-3 in the third. Alberto Callaspo's RBI double cut the deficit to one, and Shealy singled him in with two outs to tie the game.
The Royals jumped in front with four runs, all with two outs, in the fourth. Esteban German and Aviles both singled with two down, and Callaspo walked to load the bases. David DeJesus' single to right plated two runs, and Jose Guillen's double to left scored two more, giving Kansas City a 7-3 lead.
Callaspo and Guillen each added an RBI single in the sixth to give the Royals a six-run lead, and Kansas City added four more runs in the eighth. Joey Gathright contributed an RBI single, and Shealy's second long ball of the day, a three-run shot to left, cemented the blowout. Shealy's homers were his third and fourth of the season.
The Indians hit the ground running, plating three runs in the first. Sizemore led off with a double to left, and later scored on a Jhonny Peralta infield single. Victor Martinez's sacrifice fly and Ryan Garko's RBI single later in the frame posted Cleveland to an early 3-0 lead.
The Royals had 17 hits to seven for the Indians. Kansas City collected 10 or more hits in each game of the series. The Royals plated eight-plus runs in each of the last three games, the first time they've ever done that against the Indians...Bannister improved to 3-1 with a 1.91 ERA in his career against Cleveland...Guillen has a 12-game hitting streak...The Indians used a season- high eight pitchers.
