Monday Open Thread

Today is the last day of the worst month historically for the Royals. Observe:

2001 10-15
2002 8-16
2003 16-7 !NOSOTROS CREAMOS!
2004 7-14
2005 6-18
2006 5-17

With a win tonight, the Royals have a chance to have their best April since 2003. Progress!

If you're depressed about the lack of Royals hitting, take a look at Joe Posnanski's post about some of the worst hitters in MLB history. Surprisingly, Neifi Perez does not make the cut.

Down on the farm, Carlos Rosa adjusted to his promotion to AA ball with another great performance going 6 2/3 innings giving up just two singles, three walks and three strikeouts.

Wondering what the new K will look like? Here's a rendering by Hunt Construction:

What gives? Panera is pulling the plug on their bagel promotion for Royals games. Have they seen this offense? What are the odds the Royals get thirteen hits AND win a game at home on the same day?

Bring back the Panera Bagel promotion or we eat the babies!

The countdown of the 100 Greatest Royals of All-Time continues with #90 Tom Burgmeier. I'm pretty convinced he could outpitch Jimmy Gobble even today.

If you get a chance, pick up Odalis Perez in your fantasy league. He has added a sinker!

Odie says "Bring back the Panera Bagel promotion or I eat Joakim Soria!"

Great news in music! Rage Against the Machine briefly reunited!. They were together long enough to perform "Freedom" and "Killing in the Name of" and of course, call for the Bush administration to be shot. Now if only I could recapture the teen angst I had when I first bought their CDs.

I don't know why I've never visited this site before, but its pretty damn hilarious - Hot Chicks with Douchebags
