Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

April 5th, 2007: the picture edition

Very strange game today. With a few minor details changed (and a better umpire crew) the Royals could have easily won. Isn't that always the story? Down below .500 again, will the Royals ever climb back above the bar this season? Anyway, here are loyal2's photos from the game. Thanks to everyone for three awesome game threads this far.-RR

I'm sad that I don't have any boyfriends today, but were I to give one, it would have gone to Greinke. 7 innings with 7 Ks, 1 BB, and only 2 runs (one earned)? He's posting a 1.29 ERA. And he's my main squeeze, you know.

Now. On to what I hope is a rather amusing (or nice) photos.

I saw these guys; they were just a little bit over from me, and I really liked their signs. It made me think of you guys. The other sign (which you can't see) said 'Who needs Dice-K' on it. Clever, cute, all that stuff.

I honestly can't give you the same perspective that slayor did, because I was out in GA. But...yea.

A pathetic shot from my seat of Gordon after his first Major League hit!

Then again...it could be worse. It could be Wilburrr.

This one (recycled) just about sums up my feelings about the opening series.

Oh, and an obligatory Greinke shot from my first series at the K...

aw, shucks
Half of those weren't even from today. I didn't really get many good shots. I should start shelling out money to sit closer (read: buy the cheap ticket and steal the expensive spot)

Idiot
RoversFan, grow up.  Heckling the Japanese fans who were at the K must've made you feel like a man since you obviously never graduated from junior high school.  What's it to you if they came from Japan to watch Matsuzaka?  What if you went to Japan to watch Aaron Guiel play and you got the same treatment?  Just root for the Royals and keep you bigoted opinions to yourself and this world will be a better place.

Also, it's Big Papi, not Popy.

BTW, is Alex Gordon's defense really this bad, or is he just nervous?  His defense at third reminds me of Keith Miller playing third...

RoversFan post...
...nuked due to offensive content. And I'm not talking about what he said about Ortiz.

Good Grief
Chill out, man.  I guess I will say that I didn't mean to offend anyone with my comments.  However, I think you took it to the extreme.

I wouldn't go to another country to see ANY PLAYER, and that was my main contention.  Do I harbor animosity towards the fans coming to see Matsuzaka?  No.  For that matter, people of other countries DO heckle Americans, and you'd know that if you traveled abroad.

As far as Papi/Popy, please rip me in two for not winning your Spelling Bee...I'll try harder next time (simple typo, my fault).  My point with Greinke vs. Papi was this: Greinke made Papi K looking thrice, and I gave him props.  I thought and have always though it is horribly unprofessional of a professional athlete to jaw at an Offical.  Do I understand this to be part of the game, absolutely.  However, Papi threw a fit b/c he wasn't getting the calls he felt entitled to.  On replay, many balls by both pitchers were low, but they were CONSISTENTLY called.  That was the K-zone established by the Ump so Papi needed to man up and accept it.  This was my sole purpose in that description, and if I truly offended others, I apologize.

I refuse to apologize for making good debate points, however.  I think you are a bit high-strung, and you need to cool it a bit.

Although I disagree with NHZ removing my original post, I understand how he perceived it that way, especially after your blowup.  Please don't instruct me on how to manage myself when you obviously need to learn a bit about citizenship yourself.

No biggy
I just did not want things turning into a flame war, and your post could be taken the wrong way out of context.

saw him last year in AA
Gordon's just nervous right now. He was phenomenal last July.
