Game 53 Open Thread- Orioles (24-27) at Royals (19-33)

Tonight's Goals:

-Hold the opponent under 7 runs
-Only lose by 3-run margin
-Three extra-base hits and/or three walks drawn
-A correct lineup card from Bell (see 1997 and 2005 entries here)
-Avoid fan rioting

After a few weeks of praising Jorge de la Rosa, I'm afraid to jinx him, so... we'll just wait and see what we get tonight, eh?

Fun Fact of the Day: According to BP's Defensive Efficiency Report, the Royals rank 27th in baseball in terms of turning balls-in-play into outs. 68.5% of non-homers end up becoming outs. By way of comparision, the worst team in baseball is Florida (67.9%), while the New York Mets are tops at 74.3%.

It is getting to the point that I fear a fan revolt. The fans out at the K last night seemed rabid and angry. The red lights are flashing and the warning sirens are going off right now. What's it going to be tonight
Will we lose by 5 runs, 10 runs, will we be down by two touchdowns and a field goal?  I am hoping for a turnaround, because watching games like this is just pathetic.  At least, with the one run loses they are actually in the game.

Some hope
Perlozzo seems to be in the same league as Buddy Bell. Maybe worse. If a guy (Jay Gibbons, for example) doesn't hit for a couple of games, he sits him for an all-star like Kevin Millar, to "help him get his stroke back" or something. Then the guy comes back, hits well for a few games, then has a couple bad games... back on the bench. So its a real chess match out there tonight. But, hey, Buck's hitting higher in the order now! And with Dejesus getting on base on front of all those guys, they should. Oh wait. What the Buddhismo giveth...

Getting ready to watch the replay on MASN
DirectTV won't let me have it at regular time, but I get it now. Weird, huh? Sounds like it was a really riveting game. I was watching "Night at the Museum" with my daughter. I decided to spend some quality time with her because she's a little jealous of the new baby (not bad, but a little) and I'm not minding missing the games a little more and more lately. Keep up the "Fire Bell" campaign.

but then again, I like anything involving history or starring Ben Stiller. Lots of good actors (including Mickey Rooney and Dick Van Dyke) and a really good story. If you liked the Neverending Story, you'll love it.
