Game 95 Open Thread- Royals (41-53) at Tigers (57-36)

Riding high on two straight victories over the Red Sox at Fenway, the Royals find no easier quarter tonight, facing off against the streaking Tigers. Challenging the Royals this evening will be noted psychotic jerk, cheater, and posing-as-a-tough-guy-on-the-mound expert Kenny Rogers (3-1, 2.82 ERA). Thankfully, Barry Bonds and Neifi Perez already destroyed our national innocence, so Kenny's antics are so so easy to take.  Like a finger of Drambuie after a long day.

Don't  worry, Kenny apologized sincerely, accepted his suspension without protest and sat out the All-Star game and never attacked again is chilled out now.

The Royals counter with Gil Meche (6-6, 3.69 ERA), making this truly a battle for the ages. According to Bless You Boys our own JoePo will be in Detroit signing copies of his book.

Is it 6 o'clock yet?
I get to watch the first part of the game, then attend a bible school program, then back for the end of the game. Let's light the ol' Gambler up! Go Royals!!!!!

Have a wonderful time and I your little one performs wonderfully.  My second daughter always manage to pull her dress up above her head.  Luckily, she outgrew that stage. Glad to see churches are still doing that sort of thing.

Should see Buck 2 of 3
Buck almost always catches Meche, and yesterday was an off day, and Buck's a right hander against Rogers, so there's no excuse AT ALL for Buck not to start tonight, thus earning either tomorrow or Sunday as well (can't start the same guy day after a night game, you just can't, dontcha know?)

oh, and like i said earlier
mechey and banny going deep into games is huge to our success down the stretch. our bullpen will drop off a bit once dotel is traded, maybe more, but if it gets stretched too thin because our starters cant go deep into games it will be substantially worse.

this is EXACTLY what mechey needed to do, go out for 7 innings and effectively shut them down giving up only 2 runs.

What do you bet Dombrowski
just called Dayton to up his offer for Dotel....man, Tigers 'pen looks rough tonight.

10-2
This has officially gone from a game to a beating the shit out of the opponent.

pure genius in Chicago
just let Contreras hang out to dry and give up 10 runs. Say goodbye to trade value.

by wildthang on Jul 20, 2007 9:57 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

so, we are now 4-3 on the road
against cleveland, boston and detroit. yet, we still have a "pathetic bullpen" and have absolutely zero respect from the MSM.

To be fair, Contreras was pitching OK
Until he gave up a grand slam to Julio Lugo to...left field in fenway.

hey, if our offense hits again
we can win tomorrow too.

sure, we are major underdogs (more than usual) but it is still possible...

its hard not to be positive after tonights shellacking.

I was afraid of that
He's such a Royal killer. But, then again, so was Kenny Rogers until tonight.

thanks to white sox loss
and this ass kicking we are now just one single, solitary game behind the sawx.

i hate the chicago white sox by the way, and i hope we can pass them this weekend...

If you give up a GS
to Lugo, regardless of where it was at, even if it was the little K, I say you deserve to get shelled.

glad braun gets some work
he was absolutely dominant in AAA, im talking soria-dominant he had 16 1/3 of innings of no run ball.

hopefully he is up here to stay now, we need another solid arm to go to after dotel 6 gets traded.

so far, so good 2 outs in 4 pitches.

going 4 and 5

Just back from the hospital and wow....
what a win... 10-2.  Butts was on fire and offense is contagious and with Grudz and German kicking in....  Meche looked good and went 7.  So, maybe his new routine is working.  I hope so as we are going to need him the remainder of the way.  Even Braun came through with a good inning.

Team win here folks.... who were those people saying we would go 3-10 in the 13.  We just over half way and we have 4 wins. I expect three or four more before those 13 games are over.

Great Win.... I had to keep up with the score on the ESPN news ticker.  Go Blue.....
