Heads Up: John Buck Radio Interview Sunday Night

I know there are many John Buck fans around here, so I thought I would pass this along. John Buck will be appearing on the radio program Country Fastball this Sunday.

"This week on an all new show, Country Fastball visits with the Catcher for the Kansas City Royals John Buck. Country Fastball talks with the American League backstop about how he was basically born into a being a country fan since his parents were both fans of Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. But John won't complain about his roots and he also claims that he and a select number of his Royal teammates are "True Country Fans" and the rest of the guys are just casual listeners.

The AL catcher is such a `hardcore' country fan that he will also battle with some of his teammates about what is played in the clubhouse, so he and his country brethren can listen to some of their favorite country tunes. And finally Country Fastball chats with John Buck about the wide range of country concerts that he's attended ranging from Toby Keith to SHeDAISY and a few others that may surprise you.

Plus you'll hear music from: Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Clint Black, Tim McGraw, Kellie Pickler, Travis Tritt, Billy Ray & Miley Cyrus, SHeDAISY, Taylor Swift Alan Jackson and a whole lot more!

All on the next edition of Country Fastball !"

You can listen live to the program online, Sunday night, at 8:00 PM Central Time.

I have nothing in common with John Buck
Mormon. Country fan. Wyoming native. Major League catcher. 6'3" 225.

We're like from different planets.

"at the time"
If Bucky can't finish off sentences correctly, then we have that in common too.

Well, I'm not much like Buck either.
But different people is what makes America/The Royals so great.

RR...the article's almost ready to go, but I'm loathe to bump this down. Should I hold off for a bit?

Does anyone notice a glaring similarity....
....in every guest that has appeared on the show?  (According to the list).

I Can't Listen To
Current Nashville Country, but I think Dixie Road is about as good as most of what I can't avoid hearing of that genre. I really do like country music, and I wish someone in Nashville would push for it again instead of the soft rock/twangy boogie that passes for "country" now.
I'm not getting older....oh, wait, yes I am....and slower.... and weaker. God, this is great!

that aint country
toby keith aint country, and if buck likes him then he isn't a "true country fan".  Its pretty said when  in a cowboy town like kc there are no real country fans on the team.  Come on olivo your my only hope.  Bring hank into the clubhouse!! (I'm not holding my breath on this one)

by como on Jan 27, 2008 6:02 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Please tell me
that Buck is not a Miley Cyrus fan. Information of that sort would lead to a "Miguel Olivo for starting catcher" campaign headed by me. Unless, of course, Olivo likes that horrible show, too. Then it's "Tupman for THEman!"
