Spring Training Game 6 Open Thread

The Royals battle the Rockies today at the usual time. The good news is that God only helps the Rockies during the regular season and the playoffs, not in the Spring.

"You look at things that have happened to us this year," O'Dowd says. "You look at some of the moves we made and didn't make. You look at some of the games we're winning. Those aren't just a coincidence. God has definitely had a hand in this."
  • Brian Bannister chats with the official site today at four, so consider this your Banny Chat Thread as well. In just around nine months, Bannister has gone from an unknown to one of the most beloved Royals around, and one of the most talked about.
  • Mellinger's blog has an interview with John Buck posted. Sadly, Buck says he doesn't spend much time on the internet.

Go Royals!
I got my copy of "The Book" yesterday-the BP annual. I've been perusing it since, and it's pretty optimistic on the Royals. It'll definitely be the focus of Thursday's write-up.

Optimistic on the Royals
Except, of course, for the PECOTA projections.  As Rany wrote the text for the Royals section, I'm not surprised that it is somewhat optimistic.
I probably disagree with you.

It's true that this season isn't forecast
as a huge jump forward, but the overall take is a positive one.
A mind without purpose will walk in dark places.

I don't know
Is saying that the Royals will be a tiny bit better a positive take?
I probably disagree with you.

by Scott McKinney on Mar 4, 2008 5:14 PM EST up reply actions

Yes, in my opinion
Because as with any team in rebuilding mode, getting the organization functioning properly can precede actual real life big league success.

I'll go with:

C  Buck
1B Butler
2B Collaspo
SS Smith
3B Gordon
LF Huber
CF DeJesus
RF Hollins
DH Shealy

Today's Hurlers
Brett Tomko will start for the Royals followed by Brian Lawrence, Ryan Braun, Julio Pimentel, Tyler Lumsden and Carlos Rosa. The Rockies will start Ubaldo Jimenez.

Also Hurling today, Ryan Shealy, Justin Huber and Chris Lubanski, all victims of the rampaging flu bug.
