Tonight its Jimmy Gobble (1-0, 5.92 ERA) against Mike Maroth (12-13, 4.82 ERA) at Comerica. Gobble started 33 games in 03-04, with not much success, but without glaring, burning failure either. Both seasons he flirted with posting the lowest K/9 rate of all time for a starting pitcher. But other than that he was decent.
And as I type, Gobble gets out of a bases-loaded jam!
