I think being completely capable of regulating sleep would be quite a nice thing, almost like a superpower. When you ever really need to fall asleep, you can't, but then you'll wake up early on Saturday or Sunday morning and just feel fantastic.
I woke up around six this morning and felt great, and the next thing I know I'm reading Van Wyck Brooks in bed and watching the sunrise.
There is absolutely no reason for this, I probably fell asleep at three and I usually wake up around 9:30 each day and feel terrible. I'm likely to end up sleeping from noon to four now, throwing off my biological clock for the next two months. But anyway, here we are.
Today's baseball:
- Schilling (9-8, 3.87 ERA) v. Weaver (13-7, 3.91 ERA) in LA at 2:00 PM
- Westbrook (6-9, 4.32 ERA) v. Clemens (6-6, 4.18 ERA) in NY at 5:30 PM
