Alex Rodriguez and Matt Holliday Win SB Nation MVPs

New, 4 comments

For the last time...

This year, on the last day of the regular season, just like the official guys with the BBWAA, each blogger here at SB Nation Baseball filled out their award ballots. While Arod's MVP crown in the AL is, amazingly, uncontroversial, there's been all manner of angst surrounding the NL MVP voting.

As for how I voted...

Here's the breakdowns:

Here's how I voted:

3. Jorge Posada
4. Carlos Pena
5. Victor Martinez
6. Vladimir Guerrero
7. David Ortiz
8. Ichiro Suzuki
9. Grady Sizemore
10. Curtis Granderson

I thought my ballot would be funky, but it really wasn't, at least here in the blogosphere. Carlos Pena got some love, as did the perpetually underrated Jorge Posada. I guess I disagree a bit on Ortiz, who adds no defensive value and limits the flexibility of the roster by being an immobile slug. By the way, Granderson finished 6th in the league in VORP. Mike Lowell finished 16th.

Not sure why Bonds is listed below Helton, other than someone's moralistic rage.
