Game 2 Open Thread- Red Sox (0-1) at Royals (1-0)

Of the glories of Opening Day, nothing more can be said. The setting was perfect, the foe was mighty, the triumph was complete. Tonight, the undefeated Royals look to take another step towards a miracle season, facing a reeling Red Sox team. Yes, reeling.

The Red Sox send the be-blistered Josh Beckett (0-0, ERA 0.00) to the mound. Beckett, along with fellow ex-Marlin A.J. Burnett, has one of the highest hype/money:performance ratio's in the game. He'll probably pitch another decade, earn over $200 million dollars, burn through three C-list model wives and never be as effective as Jimmy Key.

Our Royals counter with Odalis Perez (0-0, 0.00 ERA), who makes his 166th career start tonight, looking to even his career record at 59-59.
