The Royals go for the most glorious sweep and win #56 this afternoon in Oakland. Making his fourth start as a Royal is the man who was once Octavio Dotel, Hiram Davies (1-1, 5.52 ERA w/ KC). The A's counter with Lenny DiNardo (7-6, 3.29 ERA).
Worth mentioning: the Royals are holding a silent auction to benefit the Mike Coolbaugh Memorial Fund. If anyone here is a collector, it might be worth checking out.
Not to be critical, but if the first auction raised just $5,500, couldn't the Royals just donate more money themselves? Leaving how much money the Glass family has our of the discussion, the minimum salary for big league players is $380,000 and all players receive $75 dollars a day for food (despite the fact that the clubhouse is also stocked with free food)... And the most they want to do is donate a few items? I'm just sayin'.
