Having a batter swing at a pitch, no matter if it is a ball or a strike, is win for the pitcher. The following are the 2010 swing and miss rates for the pitchers' various pitches of players on the current roster (and some guy on the Brewers). I included only pitches that were thrown over 20 times. A list of notes and pitch types are at the end of the article.

Notes:
- Tejeda will probably not be moved to the rotation until he has more than 2 pitches he throws regularly.
- Davies' change is the hardest pitch to hit for pitchers on the 2011 roster at 35%. Greinke's slider was just barely harder to hit at 36%
- Of the pitches that were thrown over 100 times, O'Sullivan's sinker was the easiest to hit and missed bats only 8% of the time.
- Just looking through the list, sliders and changes were harder to hit.
- The best fastball belonged to Tejeda which had a 25% miss rate. Hochevar had good miss rates on his cutter (32%).
