Eric Hosmer has performed reasonably well in his first four games as a Major Leaguer, however, aside from his first at bat in Kansas City, he's lacked a standalone moment.
That moment might be tonight's game against the Yankees, given that Ned Yost has elected to bat Hosmer third in the lineup. Batting order chatter is generally way overblown and already fraught with too much symbolism and flawed ideas about roles. Statistically, we know that to be the case. Nevertheless, it persists. Add in Yankee Stadium and a massively hyped prospect in an era of massively hyped prospects and... well... explosions, fireworks, raging streams of lava, and all the rest of it.
HOSMER IS BATTING THIRD TONIGHT AGAINST THE YANKEES THE FUTURE IS NOW!!!!!!!!
