The NEW LOOK Royals will take the field, looking to take the series today. We will be Aviles-less for the first time since 2007. I'm not really sure how this team will respond.

On another note, I don't really get the Ubaldo Jimenez trade for the Indians. They may be "in contention" this year, but they're not really "in contention." They're two games over .500 and 2.5 games back in a weak division. Even if they were to get into the playoffs, they seem like a pretty good candidate to get bounced in three or four games by the Red Sox or Rangers. Ubaldo is signed through 2013, but I don't really see the championship-level personnel in Cleveland the next few seasons - especially now that Drew Pomeranz and Alex White are gone.

I'm all for going "all-in" and I think prospects are currently overrated in the market, but this strikes me as a curious and reckless move. And that's not even considering that Ubaldo has some red flags, what with his loss of velocity and the fact the Rockies are moving a talented and cheap pitcher in the first place.

Its all fun for the fans, but I can totally see Dayton doing this if we get off to a 53-51 start next year.
