Royals Review Prospect Voting Results

BFSE Voting results.

Peter G. Aiken-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

A few days ago, I surveyed Royals Review readers on how they would rank the top 10 Royal prospects. Thanks to everyone that spent some time to vote and now it is time for the results.

I went with one huge table that may seem a little overwhelming, but after splitting it up, I found myself having to go back and forth between charts, so I went with just one. For this chart, I looked at ballots where people voted for 10 players (link to full spreadsheet)

Thoughts

1. Wil Myers and Jake Odorizzi were the #1 and #2 ranked prospects. No huge surprise here.

2. Bubba Startling and Kyle Zimmer are basically tied for #3. It will be interesting to see how each of these two advance this season.

Bubba need to really begin to move through the minors if he is to be a star as some other players his same age are making impacts in the majors already.

Name Birth Date Days Old Difference
Jurickson Profar 02/20/93 7171 0
Bryce Harper 10/16/92 7298 127
Bubba Starling 08/03/92 7372 201
Manny Machado 07/06/92 7400 229
Mike Trout 08/07/91 7734 563
Todays Date 10/09/12

I expect Zimmer to fly through the minors. His motion is damn near flawless and he touches 95 mph with ease. I would not be surprised to see him in the majors at some point if the Royals are close to being in contention.

3. John Lamb and Kyle Smith are almost tied and have generally the same voting profile where people have them receiving votes in all the slots. They both have questions surrounding them and have the potential to really breakout.

4. Montgomery has fallen hard. 15th overall with Colon placing higher than him.

5. A decent drop off in voting from Cheslor Cuthbert (39%) to Orlando Calixte (23%). It seems to me that people have more faith in the top 13 than the next 9.
