Official Game Thread - Game IX - The Indigenous Persons of North America of Cleveland Versus The Royals of Kansas City

The collective hopes and dreams of the Royals fanbase all comes down to this match of wits and skills. Despite having been told by their hometown ballclub that it is, in fact, "Our Time," the results of the past few days have left the Royals' faithful huddling around a dwindling fire, attempting to find a warmth through the burning passion of sport that may not be there after all. Demoralization has come at every turn for these past three days, leaving we common folk to look to elsewhere for guidance--searching high and low for tales of similar trials and tribulations to see how great men such as George Oscar Bluth, Jr. have fared when their faith was put to test.

In our darkest of days, we turn to Luis Mendoza--a man whose intestinal fortitude is best symbolized by his regal, nay royal coiffure. Luis Mendoza--The Man whose most ardent followers have little more than blind faith and the befuddling results of an inexplicable campaign in the distant lands known as the Pacific Coast to fall back upon--puts toe to rubber in an effort to quell both the fears of thousands and the doubts rising up in the back of his teammates' minds. His young teammates look to The Man, his hair billowing in the mythic wind ripping through the caverns of Kauffman Stadium, as he tells them to rise up against their divisional foes--to thwart each parry and blow--to quash the advance of those unruly Clevelanders. He mounts his steed, points to the field of battle, and emphatically declares, "Today, we ride!"
