Game Notes:

  • Sanchez pitched great. Allowing no runs on 1 hit, 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. He only threw 83 pitches and went 5 innings. No exact reason is known why he was pulled, but in his last inning he gave up both of his walks and only hit. I want to see him pitch like this next start. I feel this was a start like Davies used to throw every 5th or 6th game to give the fans a hope for what he can do, but never did on a regular basis.
  • Getz gets the game winning RBI in the 9th driving in Moustakas. He also tripled in the 2nd inning.
  • Royal pitching held Fielder and Cabrera 0-7 today.
  • The only two Tiger runs came off a Boesch HR in the 8th inning with Crow pitching.
