The Royals won the BIG GAME. George Kottaras took a walk with the bases loaded to give the Royals the lead in the 10th. Then Alex Gordon put the game away with a Grand Slam.
Notes
- James Shields pitched effectively allowing 5 hits, 3 walks, 4 strikeouts over 8 innings. Also he had 3 wild pitches which helped to contribute to a run in the 4th.
- From the 6th inning on, the Royal pitchers didn't allow a base runner.
- Chris Getz was the only starter to not get on base.
- Huge collision at home between Fielder and Perez.
- Moustakas got an extra base hit. It is his 3rd of the season.
- Verlander wasn't himself. He allow 8 hits and only struck out 4 batters. He left the game with cracked skin on his thumb.
- Gordon is the hacker of the game by only seeing 17 pitches in 6 PA.
