If you're saying to yourself "Jason Vargas? Isn't he that mediocre left-hander that always seems to shut down the Royals"? You're right. Vargas is 5-1 with a 3.38 ERA in six career starts against the Royals, and that includes him getting shelled in his first outing versus the Boys in Blue.
