Half of the Major League baseball is over .500 and the Royals will attempt to stay there by extending their winning streak to eight games tonight. A win would make July the second straight month that Kansas City has fashioned a five over .500 month. Sadly a twelve under May performance cannot be erased from the ledger and likely will haunt us for decades.
The couldn't-care-less White Sox are playing at Cleveland. While the Tigers did what they apparently are just going to keep doing this afternoon: win. It is apparently impossible to make up ground in the American League Central these days.
On the bright side, Mike Moustakas has outhomered Miguel Cabrera this week. I guarantee if that trend continues for the next eight weeks, the Royals will make up ground. I will not, however, guarantee you that trend continues.
