Game 142 Open Thread - Royals vs. Tigers

Let's hope the Royals stay within two touchdowns this time.

Peter G. Aiken-USA TODAY Sports

Not too much to complain about with the Royals lineup today, especially with how Emilio Bonifacio is swinging the bat. Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star brings us the starting nine for the home team:

That's probably as good as the lineup will look against a right-handed pitcher.

The Royals get their first look at Detroit Tigers prospect Nick Castellanos (he came in as a pinch-runner last night, but didn't have a plate appearance), who is hitting seventh and playing left field. The Tigers official Twitter account brings us their batting order:

MLB Network will be carrying today's game, along with the Pirates/Cardinals game. I'm not 100% sure which one will be on in Kansas City, but it's certainly worth a shot if you want to watch the game, since FSKC is not televising the game. If not, there are plenty of not-so-legal options to watch the games, but please don't post direct links in the gamethread.

Song of the Day: Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name

I will miss most of this game; Iron Maiden and Megadeth are playing at the Sprint Center tonight and I purchased tickets to the event months ago. Maiden is one of my favorite bands, and I'm thrilled that I get the chance to see them live.

Jeff Zimmerman will be around tonight, so it shouldn't be (complete) anarchy. I'll be back tomorrow with a sore neck and ringing ears.
