The Kansas City Royals will attempt to complete an ALDS sweep tonight when they face the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals lead the Angels 2-0 in the series.
James Shields will start for the Royals. Shields threw 227 innings in the regular season, posting a 3.21 ERA with a 3.59 FIP. Pitching in a game like today's is a big part of the reason why the Royals decided to trade for Shields, so it would be nice to see him pitcher deeper into Game 3 than he did in the Wild Card Game.
C.J. Wilson will take the mound for the Angels. Wilson did not turn in a particularly strong campaign this year, compiling a 4.51 ERA with a 4.31 FIP over 175 2/3 innings. The southpaw struggled with his control, issuing a free pass to 11.2% of the batters he faced this year, the second-highest BB% in MLB among qualified starters.
If you're going to the game tonight, stay safe and be wary of Angels fans, for they can be unrelenting if taunted:
If not, I hope you have your dancing shoes on, because it's going to be a party here:
