Its not quite the Best Minor League System in the History of Whatever, but here's how the minors shake out for the Royals.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Notable omissions:

Kyle Zimmer, the organization's top pitching prospect, will remain in Arizona for extended spring training. He is supposed to start throwing next week after developing bicep tendinitis. The club expects him to stay in Arizona til mid-May, then join Northwest Arkansas.

Orlando Calixte, one of the top shortstops in the organization, has had visa issues, but will likely join Northwest Arkansas when he's ready to play stateside.

Sam Selman, an exciting left-handed pitcher, has been left in extended spring training. I have not heard anything about what his injury might be.

Cody Reed, last year's second round pick out of junior college, is not listed on any roster. From his Twitter, feed I gather he'll be going to Lexington eventually. Not sure what, if any, injury he has.

Bryan Brickhouse, a right-handed pitcher taken in the 3rd round in 2011, is still recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Alexis Rivera, a somewhat promising centerfielder, is not listed on any rosters. Put out an a APB on him.

Carlos Peguero, designated for assignment last week, could join Omaha if he clears waivers. One or both of Pedro Ciricao and Jason Donald could also join the club.
