Changes on the Roster, Changes in the Lineup

Johnny Giavotella is up and batting second today.  Louis Coleman is back and Aaron Brooks (does he really exist - were you actually in the majors if you never got to walk on the field?) is down in Omaha.   Here's a better question:  is Johnny Giavotella a defensive upgrade over Danny Valencia at second?

The addition does, in theory, give Ned Yost some flexibility to use pinch-hitters.....if Ned actually ever used one.

The veteran Jeremy Guthrie, who had the worst start of any in the rotation thus far, versus former Royal Jake Odorizzi, who threw six shutout innings in his first start of 2014.

EDIT:  Donnie Joseph is also sent down.  Infante remains on the active 25.  Only 11 pitchers??!! The horror!
