The Kansas City Royals will attempt to win their third straight game on Monday night when they kick off a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox.
Jason Vargas will start the game for Kansas City. The southpaw has a shiny 4-1 record with a 3.00 ERA through nine starts on the year, and has only walked 11 batters. Vargas' has benefited from a .269 BABIP and a 81.1% LOB%, both of which should regress moving forward. He has pitched quite well this season, but is unlikely to pitch as well as he has the remainder of the year.
Scott Carroll will take the mound for Chicago. The rookie righthander has been a dumpster fire in his four starts, sporting a 5.24 ERA, 5.54 FIP and 6.6% K%. Carroll really shouldn't start for a major league team, and the Royals should score plenty of runs tonight.
Alcides Escobar hit No. 2 yesterday and the Royals scored eight runs. Naturally, Yost is hitting the shortstop second again. Josh Vernier of 610 KCSP tweeted out a picture of the lineup:

The White Sox activated Adam Eaton off the disabled list yesterday, but will be without slugger Jose Abreu for the series. Dan Hayes of CSN brings us the Chicago batting order:
#WhiteSox lineup 5/19 vs. #Royals: Eaton 8, Beckham 4, Ramirez 6, Dunn 3, Konerko DH, Viciedo 7, Flowers 2, Sierra 9, Semien 5. Carroll 1.

The last two Royals games have been very enjoyable to watch. Let's hope they make it three in a row.
