Welcome to Sunday afternoon, everyone. This introduction will be brief; the spacebar on my laptop is broken, and I'm typing this from a tablet. Technology is the best and the worst sometimes.
Jason Vargas will take the mound for the Kansas City Royals, facing off against his former employers, the Los Angeles Angels. Vargas was rocked in his last start, surrendering three homers against the Chicago White Sox. Let's hope he fares better today.
Garret Richards will start for the home team. Richards has a 2.90 ERA through nine starts this season, sporting a 2.58 FIP as well. The righty has done a good job missing bats this season, but has only given up one homer, which is bound to regress. Just maybe not today.
Norichika Aoki is out with a sore elbow, so Jarrod Dyson is leading off. Pedro Ciriaco and Jimmy Paredes are both in the lineup, try not to get too excited.
